For about a month last Fall, I graded 95 papers every other week. This stopped when it became clear that I was going to go completely batshit by the end of the term, and reinforcements were brought in.

I tell you this because it’s not like I’m not used to having ginormous piles to grade. And relatively, the pile of grading I still have before me is not huge: I have 24 papers left, to be graded by Tuesday.

So the fact that I’ve only done, like, 6 papers today shouldn’t be cause for too much alarm, right?

And a question, for my more grading-experienced cyberpals: at what point do you just concede that you’re done for the night, and no one will be happy if you continue trying?

I guess what I’m saying is: can I just go ahead and switch from coffee to wine, already?
